wanderlust festival!
um. what’s better than a music festival with outdoor yoga? correct. nothing! that’s why wanderlust is explosively spreading like wildfire all across the nation. please take 2 seconds to learn more about this incredible event. this year has already boasted events in new york, san francisco, pheonix, and dallas to name a few. upcoming fests are scheduled for: vermont, chicago, north lake tahoe, santa monica, and squaw valley.
be there or be square. and when ya coming to dc, wanderlust?

I made you a mix tape…it’s all about death.
I am sitting in my hotel room in Hartford, listening to The Mountain Goats and reading Stretch.
I like Stretch. My favorite moment in it is when he’s freaking out about teaching his first class and his wife tells him to “Detach.”
“‘HOW CAN I DETACH WHEN I’M GOING TO FAIL?’ I shouted.”
That made me smile.
In about an hour February will be over and so will Feb.U.Yoga. I made this playlist for Feb.U.Yoga. The other day I realized that most of the songs on the playlist are about death.
“Huh” I thought. “Most of these songs are about death.”
Then I was talking about this with Kelly and she said something like “Yoga is about death.” Maybe she didn’t exactly say that–I wasn’t taking notes, I was eating a scone. But she said something like that.
Anyway, what she said was something to the effect that, being in each moment, we are fully alive, but that means we have to die and transform with each new moment.
“Huh.” I thought. “Kelly is really smart.”
So, anyway, if you want a copy of the mix, talk to me and I will let you know how to get one. It’s good. It’s all about death.
On Music, Or Us
When Harry said ::About Music:: at the end of his blog post here, it made me notice the word Transpose when someone said it later in a convo.
This made me look it up in the Dictionary.
Particularly, I noticed the mathematical definition.
to Transpose: to transfer (a term), with its sign changed, to the other side of an equation
This made me remember a time Kim Weeks said, “there are positive and negative charges in the Universe.” I thought about what it means to be human and have relationships, and what it means to ground your energy.
Does it imply that for every negative charge in my body, I need to locate and identify with an equal and opposite positive charge in the world? And vice versa?
Are we musical, mathematically?

i sing you sing we all sing for ā the new space?
we heart music. what songs inspire you? do you like music in your practice?
what are your favorite bands?
we want to know as we make plans for the new space design.
