When I moved to DC in 2005, I tried out a bunch of gyms then yoga studios, and because of a random spring promotion I committed myself to two months to Boundless. I knew immediately that there was something different about this place. After a year and a half at Boundless, I am dedicated to my yoga practice and know I will take it with me wherever I go.
Through some fabulous teachers, I have grown immensely and am able to learn something new every time I come to my mat. At Boundless, you can explore your own possibilities in a creative, supportive, fun environment where people know how to laugh even when they are being serious.”
Boundless is an oasis of peace and learning in our work-obsessed city. everyone should come to Boundless to share in its approach to practicing yoga.”
I’ve tried yoga studios all over town, and Boundless is my favorite because it seems the most normal.”
I wandered into Boundless Yoga on a whim after passing by a few times and it has offered me a fresh perspective on my life. Boundless has changed the way I wake up each morning and face the day.”
I’ve tried a variety of yoga studios, in several cities and several countries, during my ongoing struggle to develop a better relationship with my somewhat inflexible, desk-bound, middle-aged male body. Boundless Yoga has easily been the best of these. BY’s instructors model for us all the adjustments they have helped me perform. “A world of good” would be a nice way of describing everything that BY represents.”
I have been a yogi for about ten years now, on the east and west coasts, and Boundless is unlike any other studio I’ve been to. There is a real sense of community to the place. It feels less commercially-driven and less body-focused than most yoga studios, but the teachers are all top-notch, with amazing knowledge of the body and an open-hearted curiosity about the role of mind and spirit as they shape our yoga practice.
What I may love most about Boundless, in fact, is the way Kim and the other instructors help their students see yoga as a kind of research, as a path to knowledge about the self and the world. In a way, I think of Boundless as a kind of research center, bringing together seeking souls in a Compassion Project to work on the question, what would a yogic world look like? And it’s right in the middle of busy U Street! It’s my favorite place in Washington.”
