On this page you’ll find two types of stories: those who come to Boundless frequently and those who take class once to four times a month. Both groups thrive in our community - we offer their experiences for you read.

I attend class once a week. The goal is always twice, but once is average. I’ve practiced at other yoga studios in town, and the teachers are simply better at boundless. They are better trained and they are better at seeing what is going on with my body, and how to improve my practice. They also remember my name.
I used to motivate myself to go saying, “I should go to class. I’ll feel better and thank myself afterwards.” But lately I’ve noticed a shift in where the motivation comes from.
More and more, as I develop my practice, it’s the other way around: My body tells me it needs to practice rather than my brain telling my body to go. For example, there was the time I had to deliver a multi-million-dollar proposal in 48 hours. Normally the last 48 hours of the proposal are super stressful, and I’m stuck at work late. This time I forced myself to go to class at 6:30, since I had missed class the prior week.
Guess what? The work was waiting for me the next day, and I was better prepared to face it. And, the world didn’t come to an end because I was not in the office for those 2 hours. It was still stressful and I still had a lot of work to do, but I was able to do it much more calmly. And, I was able to sleep that night, which is normally difficult in the last few days before a big deadline.
Other benefits include my posture being better; I catch myself sitting up straighter than before. I actually think I’m taller than I was before. In my old apartment building elevator I would always try to touch the ceiling before class and after class, and I swear I was taller after class!
My digestion is also better. I can read the signals my digestive system is sending me, so I can avoid or mitigate stomach issues as they arise. As a result of all these benefits, I sleep more deeply than before.
Boundless seems to attract people who want to do more than feel the surface benefits of asana. They are interested in transformation—discarding old habits, learning new ways of understanding their bodies, and new ways of relating to their community. They also believe yoga can do more than make you feel better. It can help you heal.
I guess that’s why the teachers work with kids with disabilities. They believe yoga can help heal the body in ways western medicine has failed them. It’s radical. Part of the reason I go to boundless is that the teachers and the students want more from yoga than just feeling good. They are thirsty for real change, and they really believe yoga can make it happen.

I come to Boundless once a week. My wife makes me go and/or I really have to push myself to go. It’s not easy for me to get out. But, I’m ALWAYS glad that I go. Always. It creates more energy and better focus for me.
I feel much healthier in every way: no more stiffness, better flexibility, aches of old age vanish away! My yoga practice creates more energy. And it often makes me feel better mentally/emotionally.
Having just had my 3rd child and working in the financial industry, I need to work on creating a new balance in my life. Yoga helps me focus on the things that are most important in my life. I am able to get on the ground to play with my kids, carry them as needed, relieve the stress of work and yoga also helps me with my sleep issues. Breathe out the stress, breathe in the love.
I appreciate that Boundless provides more than just a workout, but also an great yoga education as well. It makes it easier for me to practice at home.

Going to yoga is most often my top priority and these days it supercedes almost every other activity I might plan for any particular evening.
During the past few months I have experienced a lot of personal upheaval, and every single time I have gone to yoga class I have felt so much better, so much more at peace. After I experienced this benefit a few times, I realized that the idea of skipping a class because I have too many errands or am too tired does not actually make sense. In fact, that frame of mind is an indicator to me that I should go to class. All the other noise seems less important after I actually have gone to class and can feel the benefits.
I feel more relaxed. I breathe better. I am more conscious of my body. I see more about how it reacts and when it is stressed. I feel physically stronger and more confident. I feel more capable of relaxing myself on my own, outside of class.
I never seriously practiced yoga before I came to boundless, and so I am grateful that such a studio exists where I feel a great sense of community and always look forward to coming to class. I like to chat with the staff, other students, and teachers. It feels like home. The four or five times a week I am at class are, without a doubt, are my most valuable waking hours, the ones when I know I am becoming healthier by changing myself, my body and my mind, with each practice.

Yoga at Boundless is a priority for me. I joke with my friends and family that all I do is eat, sleep, go to work, and go to Boundless.
Even when it’s cold or I’m tired and achey and I feel like just curling up on the couch, I remind myself that I always feel better after going to class and that is usually motivation enough for me.
I’ve learned to relax more and listen to me body. I’ve gotten more patient. I don’t hold on to emotions as much as I used to. My posture has infinitely improved, as have my flexibility, muscle tone, and strength. Practicing regularly is probably number 3 on the list of things that have helped me deal with the grief of losing my mother.
I thank my friend Julia on a regular basis for introducing me to Boundless in August 2007. I’m also grateful now to be a part of the Teacher-Training Program.

[I manage to go to yoga three times a week because I] pick specific classes that best fit my schedule and try to go to them. If I miss a class, I take a make up class.
I usually find myself resisting going to yoga when I need it most– I’ve come to see resistance to going to class as a sign that I need it especially at this time!
I am calmer and less anxious. I find that emotions move through me more quickly and naturally. I have fewer aches and pains and I am stronger too.

I make yoga class a priority. If I am busy during the week and miss I few classes, my body punishes me. I experience backaches, lethargy, depression, etc. My yoga practice helps me clear my head of bad thoughts about my body and my life.
Sometimes, I think I might just skip yoga. But if I push myself to go, I feel great at the end of class. Even if I can’t do all the poses that day, I still feel energized.
The benefits are so many! Better posture, stronger spine, more energy in everyday situations, such as walking up the Dupont escalator, faster walking pace/longer stride, toned muscles (legs, abdominals, arms, back), and a calmer temperament.
I practiced yoga for 4 years at my university gym. During this time, I learned many bad habits. The classes were too large and too short for the instructors to give individual attention to each student’s alignment. I also didn’t receive any training in the poses that require a lot of guidance, such as inversions and arm balances.
I began taking classes at Boundless last Christmas after my sister bought me a 10-class gift certificate. I quickly found that Boundless offers a training space that allows the instructors to focus on individual students. Each student is corrected according to his/her body’s needs. The Boundless instructors pay special attention to the newer students, which is one of the reasons I renewed my pass after the classes expired.
