you know, i’ve been thinking a lot about dog intelligence lately, namely because my dog gaia is a perfect example of living 100 percent in the moment. of course, all animals are able to practice mindfulness to that extent, but i really notice it with my dog. if something happens that upsets her or otherwise rattles her world, it doesn’t seem to have the same long-lasting effects that a similar experience would have on us.

plus, i have to admit, the rear half of her downward dog is absolutely perfect! i’m not sure i could say the same about a pig.

Yeah, but pigs are the tastiest, if you slow cook ‘em. kids can be kind of stringy.
